Old Kempton Distillery, located in the historic Dysart House in Kempton, TAS, has been creating a variety of spirits since November 2015, all made using 100% Tasmanian ingredients. The distillery offers fully guided tours, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the distillation process and a visit to the bond store, where maturing whisky and barrels of different shapes and sizes can be found.
The tour, which is unique and offers an amazing opportunity to see the day-to-day operations of a distillery, concludes with a guided tasting of a variety of Old Kempton Distillery products in the stunning Cask Lounge. The lounge is located in the grand coaching inn of the Old Kempton cellar door and is home to the cask wall and botanic library.
In addition to the tour and tasting, Old Kempton Distillery offers lunch options featuring local Tasmanian produce, cocktails, coffee, and other tastings. The cellar door is also worth a browse, filled with Old Kempton Distillery products, spirits, and souvenirs of your visit to Dysart House.
